Grand Knight’s Message
All we need to do is ASK. Asking those to Join is the key if we are going to grow and be a better council. We simply can’t be afraid. Helpful tips that may work is if you see the husband is busy, ask the wife; and even invite her to be part of the Auxiliary. Utilize our recruiting tools such as the Blue “Join us” card for online membership or the new “I’m a Knight” cards which I introduced at the meeting in September.
Secondly, what happened to our team? It appears everyone used to work well to make our events good. Over the last year, only a couple of us stepped up last year to do the Breakfasts; when in the past when I first started out as Knight there was a different chair for each one. Teamwork is defined as the combined action of a group of people, when effective and efficient; making a task or event successful. So, let’s get back to doing this.
This next month I am again posing a question and challenge to everyone.
1) Is there anything we can do with our current programs to make them better?
2) Move around to a different seat in Mass, maybe by a younger family. Talk to those nearby and ask them “Have you ever thought being a part of the Knights of Columbus?”
Please think on the question between now and the membership meeting in October as I will be looking for answers to bring to the November Officer’s meeting.
Council Officers, please take note:
Worthy Officers, Due to recent changes at my workplace, I am needed more for evenings temporarily. So, for the months of November, December, January, & February, the Officers meetings will be at 6:30pm prior to the General membership meetings. Our officer's meeting for October has moved from Wednesday the 2nd to Friday the 4th and will begin at 6:30pm at St. Tim's. I understand if a few of you can't make it.
Jeremy Hadash, GK
A special welcome to the newest auxiliary members—Mary Otto, Jeanne Wymer, and Carol Zmuda. We look forward to our time together serving others. As a reminder, please pay your annual dues ASAP, so our membership lists can be updated for all.
Thanks to everyone who provided food for the potluck and those who cleaned up afterward.
Saturday, October 19 is the Ladies Workshop hosted by Lakeville at Shieldsville, MN. We currently DO NOT have anyone representing #5141. If interested, let me know ASAP and the auxiliary will cover your workshop fee plus hotel.
We will be serving refreshments after the St. Tim’s memorial mass on November 2. Mass begins at 10 a.m. Please arrive to mass early as the Annual Craft Fair will be going on at the same time. Contact Bev, chairperson, to let her know you will be helping serve with her.
Prayer intentions are for Wayne’s sister, Diane; Lenny’s sister, Diane; Elizabeth; Jerome, Lonnie, Marilyn, Jean’s brother-in-law, Jerry. They are suffering from medical conditions. May Mark RIP. Lord please hear all those intentions thought, held in our hearts and not spoken.
Have a good month and God Bless.
Jean Ackermann, Ladies Auxiliary President

GK's note about our Council Meetings
As many had hard time with our meetings inside the Hospitality center (gym) in hearing, all except our 2 steak fries will be in another room this year. Please come through the parish center doors. Summer meetings- As there is no staff in the evening, I ask you to be on time. At approximately 5-10 minutes past meeting start time, the doors will lock back up. These are the rules we need follow from the church for the safety and security of everyone.
Council Membership Dues
A second mailing has been mailed out. We still have 18 members who have not paid dues this council year. Please send your dues payment in as soon as you can. If you have concerns please contact your FS, Gerald Arel. Please send me a note at email@example.com, or if you wish to contact the Grand Knight, Jeremy Hadash, you may do so.
The Call List has been modernized. Instead of Phone calls, the Grand Knight will e-mail all Blaine #5141 members upon the passing of a Brother Knight, Wife or Child. Phone calls will still be made to individuals who do not have Computers. Anyone still wanting to be notified by phone, please give me a call and I will put you on the ‘Does not have a Computer list’.
