Grand Knight’s Message
On behalf of the Officers of the council I hope you and your families are doing well during this current spike in the Corona Virus and the current restrictions that have been imposed. Know that you are not alone in this we are here to help you in any way we can so if you need any help do not feel embarrassed please reach out to us.

As we enter the Advent season and the hustle and bustle of the holiday season please keep in mind that over 2000 years ago our loving God sent his Son our Lord Jesus to teach us to be better people, and to blaze a path into heaven by the unselfish act of shedding his blood for our sins. This is the True meaning of Christmas.

We may be called upon from St. Tim’s so assist at the Christmas Masses. I will send out by email the details as I receive them.
Due to Covid restrictions we cancelled the Concertina Bowl.

We will be conducting a Father Wants You Membership Drive in January. Please send me the Name and Address of anyone who is not a Knight so we can send him a letter from Father Joe. Brothers, we need to grow the membership of the council. Our membership is growing older and decreasing at an alarming rate, so if we are to continue Blessed Father McGivney’s Mission of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity we need new members with fresh ideas on how to carry this out. Please give this careful consideration.

Please give some prayerful consideration of becoming an Officer of the council. It seems we have the same individuals in office time and time again. I myself, am serving as Grand Knight for the second time. We as officers need new and fresh ideas on how to lead the council in our charitable works. You do not have to start out at the top; consider one of the lower spots like becoming a Guard and moving up the chairs as you see how the council runs. It is not really all that hard to do. Again, please give it some prayerful consideration as we need your help.

Again, I would like to wish you and your families a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Vivat Jesus,
Terry Wagner
Grand Knight

Ladies Auxiliary News
I hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving.

We are still awaiting decisions about in-person auxiliary meetings. Last month, I emailed about having ZOOM meetings; and since I received 1 response, there is no plan to ZOOM at this time.

I know this year has been limited with our volunteer hours, however, please take the time to add them up and get them to Margo Arett via email or phone call at. She needs your volunteer hours by mid-December, so she can submit them to the State. You can get a copy of the worksheet from Margo or the State Web at

Mary Lou Cronin, long-time Auxilian, died on October 31st from complications due to COVID-19. May she rest in peace. Prayer requests were made for Lorraine/Dennis Koss, Mary Timm’s family, especially granddaughter, Marissa, in your prayers as Marissa recovers from COVID-19, for all those who are affected by COVID-19- past, present, future, for President Trump and Projected President Elect Joe Biden as they work through the transition process, and for all those intentions thought but not spoken.

And finally, I want all of you to know that Jim and I plan to leave for the WINTER to visit Arizona relatives November 24, 2020 and return home sometime after Easter, 2021.
I will continue with email meetings and information. However, if it is decided to have in-person meetings, VP Gladys Resler, will run them.
May you and your family have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Yours in Christ,
Jean Ackermann, Ladies Auxiliary President

FS Notes
A few short years ago I recall hearing at our meetings how our membership was struggling to stay above 200. It hasn’t been that long ago and now we have dipped below 175. Just this council year we have lost 9 members to death. Please try to recruit someone to breathe new life into our council. I would like to contact Supreme about new members, not telling them another member has died.

Please keep the council updated when you have a change of address, change of phone number and finally a change to your email. It really helps us to keep track of where to send things to you. If you have any changes, please forward them onto the FS.

Our council newsletter has returned as you notice. When we went to sending it out by email, we had a number of members who we did not have email addresses for. It has been decided that will mail out copies to those members starting with this issue. If you are getting this newsletter by mail and have an email address, please send that to the Financial Secretary.

Just a reminder FYI. On the back of your membership card it has my name and phone number. Please make sure your loved ones know this in case you are sick or have passed away.

Items of Note:
Concertina Bowl

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic,
the January 30th, 2021 Concertina Bowl
will be postponed until hopefully 2022.

Some of the many concerns:
• Brook Hall limits of 200 people at one time
• Older Polka Dancers
• Jammers and Volunteers coming
It is way too dangerous for community spread.

Hopefully 2022 will bring us more safer times. Dick Dols & Art Ohotto

Prayer concerns
“We lift up this concern to you, O Lord”
Harold Amiot, Ed Bicha, James Fortwengler, Rubey Karels (wife of Lee Karels), Jorge Slater, Barbara Gubrud (wife of Steve Gubrud), John Wilcox, Larry Welch, Dennis and Lorraine Koss, Ed Kidrowski, Fred Timm, The prayer for life, and the Popes prayer for peace. All those affected by storms and natural disasters. All those suffering from depression. All those suffering from the Coronavirus. All those suffering from the recent civil unrest. All serving members of the Priesthood, Diaconate, and Religious Life. All serving members of the Armed Forces.

Happy Birthday
We have 10 members who will be celebrating a birthday in the month of December. They are Patrick Vandrovec, Richard Arett, Jan Darveaux, Dick Dols, Ed Bicha Jr., Bradley Hacker, Bob Cuddigan, Anders Robert Zmija, Andy Helseth and Al Loerzel. Happy Birthday to all, hope you have a great day.

We Remember
Each month we take time to remember members who have passed away. Many of those members helped form this council. This month we recall some of our earlier members who have passed away. George Hallman, Robert Libra, Don LaVoi, Tom Eischens, Felix Schmiessing, Virgil Mitchel, John Burns, Alfred DesJardins, Henry Grachek, Ray Trombley and Owen Hyland. Please pray for their families. May they rest in peace.
