Grand Knight’s Message
At the last membership meeting I showed a video of former Viking Matt Birk, who gave an address to the College Knights. This address was very key to our day in the Catholic faith and how there may a war going on; but with the right army (Us Knights), we can win this battle. I often think what he said also refers to us in how we recruit today. If one person is the only recruiter against many in the parish, then he’s often met by rejection. We as a council must recruit as a team or as Matt Birk said “If we going to battle, we better have a good army of men to fight; because with all us working together, we will win” Let’s each one of us take a moment to ask 1 person over the next month to join. Let us represent our council by having the most at our own hosted degree. In February, we will have our winter membership drive. In March, we will have “March Madness Recruiting at fish fry 1,3, & 5.
Now, to see if you are actually reading this, I want to see who is prepared to ask someone to join. So, between now and June, at random, I will check to see if you have either a Form 100 or Join Us Card on you. I am going to do 6 times or more at our General Meetings, Breakfasts, & Fish Fries. For each time you have one, you will get 5 chances in a separate drawing for a $25 gift card.

They need facial tissue, bathroom tissue, lotions, cleaning supplies, handy wipes, Clorox wipes, laundry soaps for sensitive skin. Grannys Closet hosts a warehouse site in each county stocked with clothing, personal care items, and general household necessities to help county and agency workers fill the needs of their clients at absolutely no cost to them. Thank you, Bev, for arranging for a speaker to attend the February meeting. Remember we start our bake sales the Friday before Lent (March 1), which is our usual “warm up” before Lent. Please have your baked goods at the hospitality center between 4:00 and 5:00 pm. Prices will be the same as last year. Help is appreciated for the bake sales or Fish Fries, especially to help clean up in the dining area.
