Grand Knight’s Message
Spring has sprung. We are entering into a season of rebirth as the grass starts to turn green and the trees start to leaf and the flowers start to bloom, we should remember this is the season in which our souls are reborn as we commemorate Christs Passion on the cross and his glorious Resurrection for the forgiveness of our sins.

Our Virtual Spiritual Retreat has been rescheduled for a Saturday on April 24th. Please consider attending this virtual retreat it is not like going to a retreat house but is geared toward the members of our council. Deacon Joe and Jeremy do a fantastic job and this retreat should be very inspiring. Again, please consider attending it.

The Lloyd Cybart Agency is again hosting a Fraternal Benefits Night Tuesday April 6th at 7pm. Guest speaker is Tom Hegna, and his topic will be how to help build long lasting retirement plans. I have attended a previous online seminar and found it to be highly informative.

Coats for Kids. It is not too early to start thinking about our Coats for Kids Drive this fall. I recently authorized a purchase of 11 coats to be purchased for $50. Why so cheap? Because at this time of year many stores are closing out there winter inventory and you can pick up children’s coats relatively cheap. Please consider as you are out shopping and can find children’s coats relatively cheap purchase them and donate them to our council for distribution this fall. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Our council has lost another 2 members, we are down to 168 members. For us to continue our mission of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity we need to recruit new members. One of the best ways to recruit new members is through personal outreach that is most effective way. All you need to do is ask family, friends, neighbors, co-workers share with them your personal experiences with them. I know one of the objections they have is that they do not have enough time. Tell them all we ask is that they give whatever time they can give us would be greatly appreciated. That is all they must do. We need your help.

Happy Easter to you and your families

Ladies Auxiliary
I hope you are all having a blessed Lenten Season.

Officer elections are in March. Due to the pandemic, I am requesting all officers continue with their positions again for next year. I will commit for another year and pray that we will be able to get together in person soon. Please email me or call so I know what you want to do. If anyone else is feeling the call to step up and volunteer aa an officer, please let me know.

Even though the State Auxiliary 50th ANNIVERSARY celebration has been postponed, I am hopeful we’ll get to celebrate October 9, 2021. Please save the date so we can have a large amount of Blaine/Coon Rapids members and families in attendance.

Prayers continue for all auxilians and their families. Specific prayers are for Lorraine/Dennis Koss and Peggy King as they deal with health issues. Prayers are being said for Brandi, Ryan, Lynette, and Petro for my Arizona Lenten Prayer Project. Prayers are for those who have contracted Covid-19 that they recover, for those who have died from Covid-19 that their families find peace, and for those who have received the vaccine. Prayers are for all of you and for your families.

Until further notice, we will be having email meetings. If you want to be included and haven’t seen an email from me recently, please send me your email address.

Many prayers for better health and safety for all in the world. May you all have a Happy Easter.

God Bless,
Jean Ackermann
Ladies Auxiliary President

FS Notes

A few short years ago I recall hearing at our meetings how our membership was struggling to stay above 200. It hasn’t been that long ago and now we have dipped below 170. Just this council year we have lost 12 members to death. Please try to recruit someone to breathe new life into our council. I would like to contact Supreme about new members, not telling
them another member has died.

Please try to recruit someone to breathe new life into our council. I would like to contact Supreme about new members, not telling them another member has died. Please keep the council updated when you have a change of address, change of phone number and finally a change to your email. It really helps us to keep track of where to send things to you. If you have any changes, please forward them onto the FS.

Just a reminder FYI. On the back of your membership card it has my name and phone number. Please make sure your loved ones know this in case you are sick or have passed away.

Knight Foundation Raffle Tickets
You should have received a letter from the council explaining the process for getting raffle tickets sold. This process has been done in past years at fish fries and breakfasts. Since we are not having sit down versions of these, we need to find a way to sell the tickets. Each council member will get 2 tickets to sell, that is unless you want more. If you want more contact your FS. The cost per ticket is $5.00 with half the money coming back to the council. The Knight Foundation donates money to worthwhile council projects. For our council, the Ladies Auxiliary received money to help fund the processional cross at St. Tim’s as well as money given to our council for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Basket project at St. Tim’s. You will also receive a note with ways you can help the council as well as the Knights of Columbus. Please take the time to look it over. So far nearly 60 members have responded in some way. Thank you. For those that haven’t please think about doing so. The deadline is April 1st. You will receive one more email reminder in a few days.
