Grand Knight’s Message
As this fraternal year ends it has been a particularly challenging year for us as a council with the COVID restrictions that were in place. But by the grace of GOD better days are on the horizon. First, I would like to Thank everyone who helped this past year. When St. Tim’s asked for help with reopening mass in many different forms (Parking lot masses drive up communion etc.) we as members of the Knight of Columbus in the spirit of Blessed Father Michael J McGivney stepped up and filled the needs of our parish. Thank You Again.
Regarding meeting again in person, I talked to Cathy Sullivan the parish administrator at St. Tim’s, and she stated that there was a written preparedness plan waiting to be approved. Cathy said that we should have information forwarded to us in early June. She said any summer meeting might be in a hybrid form that with God helping St. Tim’s should be fully reopened by September 1st. I will keep you updated when I receive further word.
Through your gracious generosity we were able to award a scholarship this year. We had two worthy applicants. We decided to award our 1st scholarship to Sophia Ronza who will be attending Creighton University this fall. Good luck to our applicants for a successful future.
Saturday June 5th at the 5pm mass there will be a special blessing for the Knights in honor of our 60th anniversary. Please try to attend and wear your KC shirt if you have one.
Our Year End Dinner will be on Friday June 18th at Brook Hall. Please contact Jeremy Hadash to make a reservation, Deadline is June 10th. I am looking forward to seeing everybody again.
Finally, we will be handing out St Joseph prayer cards to fathers on Father's Day weekend June 19-20th. We will need volunteers to help handing out these cards. I should only take about 10-15 minutes after mass. Please consider helping. To volunteer please contact Jeremy.
I wish you and you families a blessed and joyous summer.
Thank you, ladies, for helping me navigate the pandemic situation this past year. I pray for “normal” times where we can get together in person.
Thanks to all the officers for the current year, and I welcome back Sandy Resler as our Treasurer for next year.
All are invited for the Installation of officers at St. Tim’s, June 10, 7 pm. President Joyce Korsten will be installing us. Please remember to bring your jewels.
The ladies do not meet during June, July, and August. I hope you all have a wonderful summer, and we hope to see you in person for the September meeting.
Prayer intentions are for those dealing with health situations, especially Mary A., Don H., Yvonne, Lorraine, and Peggy. Finally, RIP for Karen A and Betty. May all find comfort during this difficult time. Special prayers are for those held deep within our hearts.
It has been a privilege and an honor to serve you during this past year. I look forward to serving you next year, too.
