Grand Knight’s Message
As we enter these last few weeks of summer, I hope you and your families are safe and doing well during strange and difficult times. We will get through this all together with the help of a Loving and Gracious God who is always there in our time of trial. All we need to do is ask for his help.
September’s Officer and General Meeting will be held Virtually. I have received the protocols from St. Tim’s for the resumption of in person meetings and we will discuss them at the Officers Meeting.
Due to the Coronavirus we will be cancelling this year’s Year End Dinner scheduled to be held in September. Instead we will be publishing a special Year in Review Edition of the Guidepost within the next few weeks. Be on the lookout for it.
On October 28th we will be Conducting a Virtual Delta Membership Drive at 7pm with the assistance of our Field Agent. Our council members are getting older and we need new and younger members with fresh ideas in order to carry out Father McGivney’s Mission of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity. All I ask of you is to forward to me the names and contact information of 2 people you know who are not Knights to me, we will handle the rest.
Our District Deputy, Jeremy Hadash is proposing to host a Virtual “Into the Breach” Video Series beginning sometime in October. This series is focused on helping us grow to be better Catholic Men. I will forward further details as I receive them.
Vivat Jesus,
Terry Wagner

Treasurer - Yvonne Rasmussen,
Trustees - Bev Bromen, Kristi LaValle.

Please send your dues to Treasurer Yvonne Rasmussen by September 1st.

Meetings
As of right now, I do not know when we will be able to meet in person. We will continue to monitor the K of C 5141 and other volunteer groups from St. Tim’s to determine our next steps. Please let me know your thoughts about in-person meetings.

Baby Boom Update
I inadvertently missed a few of Eleanor Joanne Bliss’s KC family members and apologize for this oversight. Parents are Matthew and Elyssa, brother Michael, grandparents Joanne and John, Lonnie and Marilynn Rudolph.

The State Committee selected the Auxilian of the Year for 2019-2020. Congratulations to Mary Hand, St. Joseph the Worker, Maple Grove.

Even though our 2 ladies –Glady & Elyssa--did not win the state award, I consider them as our own #5141 Auxilians of the Year.

Many prayers are being said for health and safety for all in the world.

God Bless,
Jean Ackermann, Ladies Auxiliary President

Fraternal Benefits Night
Great news for our council and members, the General Agents of Minnesota are conducting a state-wide Fraternal Benefits Night Webinar. This won’t be an ordinary FBN though, we’re bringing in well-known retirement expert Tom Hegna.
Tom is an award-winning author, speaker, and economist. He is an industry leader and is considered by many as "The Retirement Income Expert." Tom has presented at over 5,000 seminars, helping build lasting retirement plans. There will be no cost to the councils as the GAs are absorbing his speaking fee.
This will be held over Zoom on October 15th at 7PM with registration required.
To register, go to the Agency website www.twincitieskofc.org .
Tom also made a special video for the KC event:

St. Tim’s needs our help

St. Tim's is going to be hosting Saturday Evening outdoor masses on Sept. 12,26, Oct 10 and 24th, beginning at 5pm.
The parish has requested 8 Knights to assist in traffic control.
I am praying that we as brother Knights will step up to the plate and aid our parish with their needs.
If you are able to help please call Gerald Arel to volunteer. If you're concerned about inclement weather, I've been told that mass will be cancelled if it rains

Please help out

FS Notes
I want to thank all of you for responding to the dues notices that were sent out in June. Those of you that still have not sent in payment a Knight Alert letter should be hitting your mailbox soon. Please take care of sending in your dues as soon as you can. If you have questions, please contact the Grand Knight or your FS. We currently have 15 members who have not sent in your yearly dues.
Please keep the council updated when you have a change of address, change of phone number and finally a change to your email. It really helps us to keep track of where to send things to you. If you have any changes, please forward them onto the FS.
Our council newsletter has returned as you notice. When we went to sending it out by email, we had several members who we did not have email addresses for. It has been decided that will mail out copies to those members starting with this issue. If you are getting this newsletter by mail and have an email address, please send that to the Financial Secretary.

4th Degree News
Next Exemplifications: All activities have been cancelled until further notice.

The Knights of Columbus Annual Fishing Trip has downsized for 2020 to a Day Trip Due to COVID-19 Mandates.

On September 19th, 2020 we will be heading to north side of Pokegama Lake in Pine City, MN
That’s right. Less than an hour away from St. Timothy’s, but miles away from the madness that we call the year 2020.

This year we would also like to include any spouses or other family members that would like to be in your boat, fishing, as well. We know that they are probably as stir-crazy as you are to get away from it all for a few hours.

We will have a picnic lunch in a 32' x 64' not screened-in picnic shelter
where we can have a social distance gathering to catch up on what has been happening the past six months, since we last saw each other.

There is a boat launch 3 minutes away, with great fishing on Pokegama Lake, Snake River or even Cross Lake.
Bring your own boat as there are no boats for rent.

Interested? Email Steve at recorder@kc5141.org and leave a message. I need a head count by September 1st.
